| Abstract |
The Rainflow and DIN 45667
procedures are two of the most widely
used. Mechanical parts which are often
tested using these techniques range from
automobile motors and transmissions to
airplane components and even complete
ship hulls.
Instead of using continuous data, class
counting procedures group the data into
separate signal classes and count the
number of occurrences per class. The sig-
nal classes are selected in such a way that
the life expectancy of the tested part can
