Abstract	The Hoffer MCP pickup is an active coil which eliminates pickup drag and requires a Modulated Carrier Signal Conditioner be mounted on or near (10 feet or less) the flowmeter. The MCP works on a principle where the motion of the rotor modulates a high frequency signal. The conditioner demodulates, filters, amplifies, and shapes the resulting signal prior to transmitting it as a high level signal.
