About ACCES I/O Products, Inc.
ACCES I/O Products, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of Analog and Digital I/O boards, Serial Communication boards, Distributed data acquisition pods, bus expansion kits, watchdog timers and other products and accessories for PCI, PC/104 and ISA bus computers. ACCES I/O’s leadership in its target markets is the result of technical innovation, breadth of product line and the indisputable price/performance value that ACCES I/O offers users in solving their real-world industrial/scientific data acquisition and control needs.
ACCES I/O offers the industry’s widest selection of PCI and PC/104 bus data acquisition cards, with more than 60 models to choose from. These cards include Signal Conditioning, Analog and Digital I/O, Windows compatible RS-232/422/485 Serial Communications, Isolated Input / Relay Output, and Watchdog Timer cards, which feature specific, practical functionality. By designing application-specific cards with selectable features and minimal jumper settings, users are able to obtain full PCI and PC/104 bus functionality without additional cost.
The company’s REMOTE ACCES line of analog and digital intelligent sensor-to-computer interface pods are ideal for installation in factory floor environments where home run wiring from distributed sensors is not cost-effective. Also, REMOTE ACCES improves data accuracy by acquiring these low-level process signals at the sensor. Each pod can be used as an autonomous data logger to acquire data for later download, or as many as 31 pods may be connected on a single two-wire multidrop RS-485 network of up to 4000' total cable length. Range can be extended by adding an RS-485 wireless transceiver to the serial port. Each unit comes in a rugged NEMA-4 enclosure and includes programmable baud rate, software-programmable firmware, EEPROM-based configuration storage, opto-isolated serial communications up to 28.8K baud, and other features. A variety of device configurations are available to meet the full range of remote analog and digital I/O needs.
Another popular offering is ACCES I/O’s line of Bus Expansion products. Unique in the industry, these I/O bus expansion kits are available in PCI-to-ISA and ISA bus configurations. Each expansion kit uses only one host system slot and allows users to place additional cards in a passive backplane expansion chassis up to six feet away without timing or noise problems, while preserving full compatibility with the host ISA bus. Even if current needs expand beyond the number of available motherboard slots, it’s easy for users to double or even triple host I/O capacity for a fraction of the cost of buying a new system.
To round out the customer’s hardware and software needs, ACCES I/O provides easy-to-use software drivers for each card as well as menu-driven setup programs which illustrate, for example, the jumper or switch settings required to configure that card.
Founded in 1987 in San Diego, Calif., ACCES I/O (Acquisition Control Communication Engineering/Systems) is staffed by experienced engineering and technical sales professionals whose decades of cumulative instrumentation expertise have led to a very high degree of product reliability and customer satisfaction. These considerations, coupled with the firm’s standout, three-year product warranty, testify to the excellence that ACCES I/O currently brings, and will continue to bring, to the PC-based data acquisition and control market.
