Invented in 1932, the MICRO SWITCH™ was one of the first components to supercharge the race to miniaturization and high performance in electronics. Prior to its debut, no switching mechanism had its strength, repeatability, high current capacity, small size or weight. The MICRO SWITCH has provided generations of manufacturers and design engineers superior operating characteristics, long mechanical life, and dependability in closing and opening electrical circuits. While modern technology has improved some of the packaging of the MICRO SWITCH, most of the core design has remained unchanged, enabling the advancement of many of today's modern machines and appliances. The Honeywell MICRO SWITCH pioneered the designs for basic, miniature, subminiature, heavy-duty and limit switches. These core designs are the global standard footprint for most electromechanical switches manufactured in the world today.
