The Electrochem/IntelliSensing PS3 Wireless Pressure Measurement System is a new means to satisfy demanding data measurement requirements in a range of oilfield activities, including exploration, drilling, and well-completion, without the use of common cables or data acquisition equipment - all enabled by Electrochem's powerful Lithium Batteries.
This end-to-end sensor solution is fully customizable to individual application needs, consisting of one or more PS3 wireless pressure sensors and a single wireless gateway. Designed to work with the industry standard 2" hammer union pressure fitting, the ruggedized PS3 sensor has the appearance of a common pressure transducer. A BS1-NG wireless gateway directly connects to control systems, allowing measurement data from the wireless sensor network to be passed on using common industrial protocols. The BS1-NG can also drive valves and relays directly in response to measurement analysis processed within the gateway itself.
This system overcomes issues with standard pressure, temperature and flow sensors due to cabled connections to power supplies and data acquisition equipment. In some situations, cable runs between sensors and equipment are simply not practical, reliable, or even possible
The PS3 is powered by the Electrochem BCX85 size D high performance primary lithium cell - a high rate, spiral-wound technology using proprietary enhanced bromine chloride technology. The BCX85 delivers superior restart, pulse capability and dependable performance over wide temperature ranges and discharge rates. This battery offers a long life power solution for this critical mobile application.
This unique system, enabled by Electrochem's battery solution, allows companies to give their customers widespread energy savings, preventative maintenance for reduced unplanned downtimes, increased productivity and saving more than half of wiring costs – all with comparably low upfront investments.
