In order to view a computer screen
image remotely or with multiple monitors, VGA distribution or signal extension
devices are commonly used. Since these
extension signals are analog, there are problems including image quality deterioration
caused by inferior signals and restrictions on cable length and number of
monitors that can be viewed.
With CONTEC's FlexNetViewer, users can easily
distribute VGA images with no quality deterioration even when viewed over a
long distance. FlexNetViewer converts
VGA output to a LAN packet and sends the digital signals via Ethernet. Both
transmitter and receiver include serial I/O for remote use of multiple
RS-232C-compliant touch panel monitors.
Users can also send VGA signals to multiple receivers and receive them
from multiple transmitters by installing the application utilities on to their
computer.
When using both transmitter and
receiver, monitors can be connected in a 1:1 or 1:N configuration without
requiring specific computer hardware or operating system.
EXTENDS ALLOWABLE DISTANCE BETWEEN PC AND MONITOR VIA ETHERNET
- When the cable length between a PC and monitor is limited, it can be
easily extended by using commercially-available Ethernet cable (category 5 or
higher).
- RGB image signals are converted into LAN packet signals before
being transmitted. This prevents
deterioration of the image data even when transmitted over a long distance.
SIMPLIFIES MULTI-MONITOR CONFIGURATIONS
- Using multiple receivers allows the image shown on the transmitter
monitor screen to be shown on multiple monitors simultaneously. This requires the same number of receivers (RP-VL-R-01)
as monitors.
NO NEED FOR SPECIFIC HARDWARE OR OPERATING SYSTEM
- When using both the transmitter (RP-VL-S-01) and receiver (RP-VL-R-01),
transmitting screen images does not depend upon a specific platform (hardware
or operating system). The same screen
images can be sent to monitors in a 1:1 or 1:N configuration without requiring complicated
utility setups.
APPLICATION UTILITIES ALLOW HOST PC TO FUNCTION AS SYSTEM
TRANSMITTER OR RECEIVER
- By installing application
utilities, the PC can serve as a transmitter for multiple receivers or as a
receiver for multiple transmitters.
INCLUDES REMOTE SERIAL AND DIGITAL I/O
- Both the transmitter (RP-VL-S-01) and
receiver (RP-VL-R-01) convert serial and digital I/O data into LAN packet
signals before transmission.
- Application utilities enable remote
serial I/O communications with RS-232C-compatible devices when connected to the
receiver.
- An RS-232C-compatible touch panel can
also be used to extend the distance between the PC and touch panel.
- Application utilities enable the PC to control
the digital I/O (4channels non-isolated LVTTL level input, 4channels non-isolated
LVTTL level output), on both the transmitter and receiver.
UTILITIES FOR IMAGE DISPLAY AND
MAIN UNIT SET-UP
- Operating environment – Windows Vista, XP, 2000
- Installation of the image display
utility enables the PC to be connected directly to either the transmitter
(RP-VL-S-01) or the receiver (RP-VL-R-01) when displaying screen images. The user
can them display screen images from one PC onto multiple monitors or to display
screen images from multiple PC monitors onto one split screen monitor.
- The main unit setting utility is used
for setting the IP addresses of the transmitter (RP-VL-S-01) and receiver
(RP-VL-R-01), set-up of remote digital (DIO) and serial I/O (SIO) and
communication specifications.
FUNCTION LIBRARIES
- The features used in the image
display utility are available in the function library allowing users to develop
custom applications.
OPTIONAL LCD MONITOR MOUNTING
- An optional adaptor is available to
mount the receiver on the back of an LCD monitor.
- VESA-compliant (75mm x
75mm or 100mm x 100mm).
CONTEC's FlexNetViewer is ideal for a
variety of applications, including multiple monitor displays in an adjacent
lecture hall, informational kiosks in public areas, real-time digital
billboards or in a manufacturing facility to view the same screen outside and
inside of a clean room.
CONTEC's
FlexNetViewer components are lead-free (exceeding JEITA Phase 2 requirements)
and RoHS-compliant.
